Fuel oil pricing is a sensitive issue for any country. But in India there has been multiple hiking of fuel rates irrespective of international market rates; and hence no justification now. At the same time if it is inevitable, the Government should be ready to lower the burden by subsidizing the transport sector by all other means so that the price surge is not transferred to the end user.
